Safeguarding Statement

Our Commitment

The Drifter Project is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants, volunteers, supporters, and partners.

We believe that everyone has the right to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion, regardless of ability, background, or circumstances. The wellbeing and safety of the individuals we support is at the heart of everything we do.

Our Approach

The Drifter Project works to create positive and empowering experiences through adaptive watersports and community engagement. We are committed to:

  • Promoting the safety and wellbeing of all participants.

  • Treating everyone with dignity, respect, and inclusion.

  • Providing opportunities in an environment free from discrimination, bullying, harassment, or abuse.

  • Encouraging a culture where concerns can be raised openly and appropriately.

  • Taking all safeguarding concerns seriously and responding responsibly.

Participant Welfare

We recognize that some participants may require additional support, assistance, or accommodations to participate safely and comfortably in our programs and activities.

We are committed to creating an environment where participants, carers, family members, volunteers, and supporters feel respected, valued, and supported.

Reporting Concerns

Any concern relating to the welfare, safety, or wellbeing of a participant will be treated seriously and handled appropriately.

If an individual believes that someone may be at risk of harm, or has concerns about conduct at a Drifter Project activity or event, they are encouraged to raise those concerns with us as soon as possible.

Respect and Inclusion

The Drifter Project celebrates diversity and is committed to providing accessible and inclusive opportunities for people of all abilities.

We strive to foster a positive community where everyone feels welcome, supported, and able to participate to the best of their ability.
